Happy Birthday Jared

August 12, 2008

August 5, 1980… the day the world changed forever! Anyone who knows my husband, Jared, would understand! We celebrated that fine day 28 years ago on Saturday with some food and lots of laughs. I have just a few shots from the evening that I know some of the party-goers are waiting for! Below is the cake… I had to do something smart – and as we all know — Jared would be lost without his T-Shirts… especially his NC State T-Shirts! I had one of his shirts recreated in cake! Very cool!

Jared nicely proved my point — this was a surprise — and I didn’t tell him what to wear!

Here are just some shots of the crew… close friends and family

This shots is thank to Bobby! He wanted to take a shot of us with his cake but I had to be sure to give him credit! Nice work Bob!

Okay… I might get in trouble for posting the next two shots, but I have to… please don’t hate me!
This is the first time I’ve ever had my camera out at a camp fire… Fire is fun to take photos of… give it a try sometime! It gives off a nice light and provides enough light to work with at night without a flash. I got a few very cool shots — or should I say hot! Here is one.
Brenda and Jenna working on a S’Mores… who doesn’t love S’Mores?!?!
It was hard to believe it was the beginning of August and we were all huddled up next to the fire keeping warm!

It was a great night! I hope everyone else enjoyed themselves! We’ll have to do it again soon!

Happy Birthday Jared!

Preview A Digital Album

August 12, 2008

For those of you who are searching for a wedding photographer I wanted to share a sample of my album design with you. I am currently offering Coffee Table style albums, a bit different than your traditional wedding album. The pages allow for some creative lay-outs. Here is a link to my most recent album – Meghan and Pat — who you have seen floating arond on my website and my blog. This represents what the pages would look like inside the album. If you are interested in seeing what one of these albums looks like completed, please do not hesitate to contact me. I have a sample available to look at. Here is the link: Meghan and Pat

Weekend at the Beach

August 6, 2008

Last weekend we took a short trip to the beach. It was our first trip down this year and might be our only… wedding season picks back up in about a month and I have a few more senior sessions this month — so stay tuned. In the meantime here are a few shots from our weekend at the beach – mostly of Zoey. This was her first trip and since she’s our baby we captured a lot of it on film… well, memory card!

Here’s our little girl chilling in the camper with us. Just sitting so pretty… how precious!

We took Zoey into Cape Henlopen — they had an area where dogs are allowed on the beach during the summer. This is just a nice little shot of the dune behind where we decided to sit for a while.

Here’s Zoey exploring the ocean. She’s not too sure about it. Daddy tried to get her to go swimming, but she wouldn’t go much more than her ankles!

Sandy Nose!

Okay, had to get a daddy/daughter shot! Great backdrop for some portraits!

Okay, now it’s on to some sights of the area. Anyone familiar with Delaware knows the Kalmar Nyckel – Delaware’s Tall Ship. It’s usually parked at the Cape May – Lewes Ferry terminal so we swung by for some shots. Below are two shots, similar to each other. The first is right from the camera with very little digital editing, the second had some color bumping to create the effect of the sunset.

Here’s the ship sitting nicely in the water… I hope one day to get to set sail with the crew.

Downtown Lewes is historic and beautiful. Every trip I have some fun at this church… each time I get a different look based on the time of day and the surrounding crowd. Surprisingly Saturday night the area was crowded, but most were at the Ice Cream Shop and not walking around the cemetary. I was able to get some good shots of the church this time. Here are two that I edited to give an old time look to.

I’ll end my post with one of Jared’s famous shots! We have a small collection of cannon shots, but this time he wanted to get Zoey in on the tradition. As you can see, she wasn’t as thrilled as Jared was to sit on the cannon.
