Erica and Dusty

This may be one of my longer posts as I have quite a few images I want to share from Erica and Dusty’s special day. I did her sister Tammy’s wedding last October — who are coming up on their 1st year anniversary — Happy Early Anniversary Tammy and Kenny! It was nice to be back with such a wonderful family and have the opportunity to meat many other great people. I had a blast and hope you enjoy some of the “snapshots” from the day.

It all started at Green Hill UMC

You probably know by now I love taking photos of the details. Here are some of the flowers with Erica’s veil in the background. I loved the dark pink color — looks great!
Here’s a new angle for me… tried to get the dress with a little different view. I think this really captures the detail of her dress.
Okay — Erica has the COOLEST garter thus far!!!
Classic getting ready shot… it’s time to start lacing up… Here she is… one of the few shots I grabbed inside before the ceremony. Looking good! We snuck outside and shot a few before the guest started to arrive… knowing what I know now about Erica I wish we could have started about three hours earlier and really had fun taking pictures… but I might just have the opportunity to work with Erica again soon… keep your eyes open!
After taking photos of the guys I checked in to make sure she was ready… she looked ready! No nerves here!

Bubble are always fun — especially when there are lots of children around. I caught one of the boys having a blast with his bubbles… I love his expression, the true innocence and joy. Priceless!
We made a stop at Safe Harbor for a few shots before it got too dark. They were a challenge as the sun was setting fast. Dusty was all about a photo with the wildlife safety zone sign… Here you go Dusty, this shot’s for you!
Cake Shot. Again — the color of the flowers are GREAT! They looked awesome against the white cake.
Okay… I am only giving you one shots from the garter… there is quite an interesting string of shots to go with this one. For those of you who were there… you know what’s coming! The rest of you will have to beg me to give you access to their online proofs when they are ready so you can see what happened next!
Their reception was a blast. Lots of little ones running around having fun and a lot of older people just enjoying what is trypically enjoyed at a reception. Here you can see one of the guests making sure Dusty has a chance to enjoy his reception too!
There are a few shots from the day! Thank you Erica and Dusty — it was a lot of fun!!

Some Random Shots

September 26, 2008

Here are just a few random shots I pulled off my memory card before tomorrow’s wedding. The first one is Jared’s Mom, my mother-in-law mowing her beautiful yard. It was late one evening we stopped over with Zoey and I happened to catch her in the setting sun just between the trees of her treeline. I’m not even sure she knows I got this shot, but if you know Betty, you’ll know she’ll get a kick out of this shot!
Okay this one requires a little explaning… this is for a JPG Magazine theme (I’m trying to get published) Simply put you were to shoot a sunny-side-up egg from above with nothing else… so here is my sunny egg in the fying pan… this was actually kinda fun to mess with — it’s not every day I play with eggs!

The bee hive has since been moved elsewhere but I pulled these next two shoots (well the same shot twice) that we grabbed shortly before the hive was moved. It was amazing how friendly these bees were. Yes I am using my zoom, but I was also very close to this group of bees. I just love the bee that seems to just be sitting there watching what’s going on… he’s probably a boy bee! Here is that same shot cropped down to just Mr. Lazy Bee. Doesn’t he just look so cute and fuzzy?
For the Zoey fans out there — here are two new ones of the pup!

Keep you eyes open for some photos from Erica and Dusty’s wedding that was last weekend… they are on their way!

Quarryville Parade 2008

September 25, 2008

One of the few traditions I have is the Quarryville Parade. One Wednesday night in mid-September I make the journey to Main Street where i hang out with good friends and family and enjoy the fun of the Quarryville Parade. This year I snapped a few shots of the beginning before it got too dark. Good thing the important floats were in the front — mainly our reigning Miss Solanco. Looking good!!

Shortly behind Miss Solanco was the Solanco High School Marching Band! Let’s hear it for the band! I spent my four years spinning the flag. It was a lot of work, but a lot of fun!

Grabbed this shot as the drum line passed… Okay… this one might need a little explaining… this is “Buddy the Bag” the mascot for Darrenkamp’s Market. We are big fans of Buddy… :-) and the tootsie rolls the Darrenkamp crew threw our way! Thanks Joe & Dave!
There were a lot of fire truck, tractors and other fun things in the parade including the famous calliope! Next year you should be sure to check the parade out! Hope to see you there!
