One of my latest adventures had nothing to do with wedding dresses, seniors or babies.  My was put to work by my other boss to try and get some images for our marketing materials.  For those who don’t know me that well, photography is a side-gig for me right now – I still work a full-time job (which helps pay for my photography!)  Working for RE/MAX with two great commercial agents has opened up the opportunity to play with my camera in new ways.  We set out one afternoon and toured the various buildings we have listed in downtown Lancaster.  I was up for the challenge and got some pretty good results.  The challenge wasn’t being creative and funky, but showing these building as true to life as possible.  The first building was the best…  it’s a great building downtown – it has GREAT lighting from the abundance of windows…  Ideal for a studio – just set-up for offices.

This building was recently remodeled and looks great!  I loved the entry and the blue wall…

Here is a shot that shows the amazing windows — wouldn’t you love  to have this corner office!

This next building is also a really neat building, with great history – but not very photogenic!  It’s a dark building, which adds to its character, but just absorbed my flash.  The high ceilings and vast open space didn’t give me much to bounce or work with, but we managed to pull off some neat shots.  I love the spiral staircase…

To make the spiral staircase even better, at the top was this awesome little “meeting area”  They even have cushions on the window sills for seating!

The main aspect of the third building we were after was the dramatic four-story atrium in the entryway.  Again, not an easy item to capture.  This is the first time I really wish I had a wide-angle lense…  might have to put that closer to the top of my wish list.  I was thrilled with my 1.4 lense at Christmas, now I guess it’s wide-angle this year!  Needless to say, I got a little dirty trying to get these shots.  I’m sure some of the people in the offices above were wondering what I was thinking, laying on the floor…  trying to capture as much as I could…  This first shot got a nice view of the stairway…

This is probably the most “artistic” image from the day…  looking up from the ground, lots of fun lines in this shot!

Here’s a nice clean shots of the entry way…  gotta love the plantlife!

I did another “commercial” session at The Imaging Center of Lancaster.  They needed just a few shots recaptured for their website and brochure.  I’ll be posting a few of them soon just for fun!  Hope you enjoyed this little tour!  Until next time!
